This week I worked collaboratively with Victoria, Chavda, Nyjah and Fui to make a advertisement. For the challenge this week we had the choice of either making a advertisement of one of the RWC merchandise, or make an advertisement of a hover bike. We chose to make a hover bike advertisement. We added some things that the hover bike can do and why you should get it.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Rugby World Cup | Maths
This week for maths we had maths equations based off the Rugby World Cup. This time the challenges were related to Rugby Pitches, and we had to solve 6 questions including multiplication and addition. We worked with different partners and created a collaborative DLO about one of the questions we had to answer in example. We used number 5 which was.."A club tactically decides to narrow the width of their rugby pitch to make it easier for their players to defend. The original width of their pitch was 65m with a length of 90m. The new width is 55m. How much smaller is the new area of the pitch?" See how we worked it out in the google drawing above.
Rugby World Cup | Maths
This week for maths we have been learning about the Rugby World Cup that is being held in Japan. We got to work in collaborative groups. I worked with Victoria and Fui for the maths challenges. For maths this week we have been using different strategies to solve the rugby stadium capacity. For the equation that is shown above, we used our fraction knowledge to solve the equation.

Tech at Tamaki College
This week for tech we were with Mr Krishna, we also played with the m-bots, which are robots that are controlled by coding. For the challenge today, we tried to make our m-bots go in a square. This process was very hard, but then it was challenging and fun at the same time. We used the codes to move our m-bots to make a square. Near the end I partnered up with Sakina, Miiana and Victoria, to test our codes that we made.

Duffy Assembly
This week we had a Duffy role model assembly and we had a special guest. Our special guest was Jamie Wall, who is a sports commentator which means he goes around the world and observes the rugby games, and then write what happened in the game. Jamie Wall is a sport commentator as well as an author. He is going to write about the World cup that is going to be held in Japan, and he is going to be reporting it to Maori Television. Brothers in Black is according to be the best selling in New Zealand. He was inspired by the book that his friend gave him when he was 9, the book was called Men in Black. Men in Black is a book that has of all the NZ rugby history which is how Jamie wrote his book. His job is really interesting because he gets to travel around the world and gets to spectate rugby games from the best seat. I would also like to say thank you to Duffy for giving me books that I really like.
