Te Reo Maori

LI: To help others ask and answer questions about the weather and feelings in Maori.
This week Sakina and I worked collaboratively to make a DLO about how to respond to questions in Maori. In our DLO it includes what the weather might be and what you might be feeling. This task was really helpful as I learned how to respond to questions that are asked commonly.

Morse Code

LI: Learning about Morse Code.
This week for another ANZAC activity I created a DLO about Morse Code. For this DLO I wrote a fact I found interesting and why Morse Code was used. During this activity I found out about a lot of interesting things they used Morse Code for. Morse Code was a method to communicate with others using a light. I found it interesting how soldiers use to use Morse Code to send messages to other soldiers discreetly.

BTS

LI: To learn about an artist.
This week we for a home learning task we made a DLO about a singer or group we like. My favourite group is BTS. In our DLO we included who they are, what genre of music they produce and why we like them. Something that amazes me is that they've been together for 6 years going onto 7 years this year.

ANZAC Facts

LI: To use the information to identify three interesting facts and explain why I think these are interesting.
Today I created a chart of facts that I found interesting. These facts were based on ANZAC since its a couple of days from now. The three facts I chose were interesting to me because I didn't have a full understanding of ANZAC day. After this activity I have a better understanding of things and I really enjoyed learning about ANZAC.

MOTAT | Home Learning

Today Victoria, Sakina, Taheesha, Florence, and I worked together to complete another one of the home learning challenges. This one was about MOTAT, a Museum in Auckland which we’ve been on in a school trip before! It was really interesting getting to know about more about this place and why it was really built. In the first activity we were to locate where MOTAT was on google maps and its address. We really enjoyed the second activity, where we found out several fun facts about them. And the bonus was to find out some information on William Motions, the founder of MOTAT. Something we learnt is that MOTAT stands for Museum Of Transport & Technology.

Whoa! Studios | Home Learning

This week for a home learning activity challenge name, name, name, name and I created a collaborative DLO about Whoa! Studios. The first activity consisted of where Whoa! Studios is on a map with the address and how much it would cost to see the super villain show. The second activity was a 10 word description of what it would be like at the park and a suggested part of the park we would recommend to a friend. For the bonus activity we made a biography of Toshiko Horiuchi Macadam. It was really exciting learning about Whoa! Studios because it may be a place some consider going!

Rainbow's End | Home Learning

This week for another home learning challenge, Victoria, Sakina, Taheesha and I decided to work on the Rainbow’s End activities, collaboratively. For the first activity, we wrote the location of Rainbow’s End, with a picture of the map, the costs of a family pass and how much it would cost for our family to go to Rainbow’s End. For our second activity, we wrote the minimum height restriction of the stratosfear and why it’s important to have a height restriction. For our bonus activity, we chose a ride with an explanation of why we would recommend it to a friend, a description of how we might feel on that ride and 25 words that describe how we felt on the ride.

Hobbiton Movie Set | Home Learning

Today, a few friends and I including Florence, Taheesha, Victoria, and Sakina, worked collaboratively to complete another one of the home blogging challenges. We were able to do each one of the activities as well as the bonus and stuck everything on one presentation. It was really fun learning and researching about this topic and then using what we learnt into a DLO. For the first one we were to create a menu using help from their official website. In the next one we created a brochure and needed to make sure we had information like location, cost for going there, and some fun facts! The bonus was to make a little biography about Sir Peter Jackson, the film director of The Hobbit and Lord of the rings.

Sky Tower | Home Learning

This week for another home learning challenge, Victoria, Sakina, Florence, Taheesha and I decided to do the Sky Tower activities. For the first activity, we wrote a list of 5 facts about the Sky Tower, using our smart searching skills. For our second activity, we created a new mascot for the Sky Tower and gave an explanation about why we chose him. For our last activity, we chose an activity we could do at the Sky Tower and wrote down why we chose it, what it is and how much it would cost to do that activity.

Auckland Zoo | Home Learning

In LS2, we created different activities to complete at home. These activities were based on places in New Zealand. Victoria, Sakina, Florence, Taheesha and I worked collaboratively and started off with the Auckland Zoo activities. For the first activity, we wrote about what the benefits a person gets when they buy a friend of a zoo pass, how much a friend of a zoo pass costs and the costs of your family to each have a friend of a zoo annual pass. For our second activity, we chose an animal from the zoo and created an infographic about them. For our bonus activity, we created a DLO about zoo keeping.
