LI: To create a piece of insect art
Inspired by art creations by Raku Inoue we went outside and collected leaves, twigs, and other plant debris to create our own insect images. I found it quite hard to find different colours amongst the greenery because most of the flowers have died from the heat. I enjoyed this activity because I got to experiment with different materials and because it was a challenge to figure out which insect I was going to replicate.
Raku Inoue was born in Tokyo, Japan and is now based in Montreal, Canada. Raku used to be known for his polymer clay sculptures but his recent works have consisted of pieces that include organic material which has caught the attention of many people internationally. He also has his own clothing brand which is called Reikan Apparel.
