Art Colouring Book

 LI: To experiment with colours

My work:
 Original:

"Under the wave off Kanagawa" - Katsushika Hokusai

This morning Room 5 joined us to experiment different colours. We tried one of this year’s Kick Start Summer Learning Journey activities. The purpose of this task was to experiment with colours by mixing colours from the original palette with pop colours. This allowed us to recolour famous painting or images of landmarks around the world. I really enjoyed using different colours and this activity was really relaxing as I haven't coloured in pictures in a long time.

  1. Hi Haylee!,
I really like the colors you chose for the "Under that wave of Kanagawa" painting. I also really enjoyed reading your explanation about the Summer Learning Journey activity. In my opinion I think you did a great blog post about this activity.

Do you have a fact you know about the painting "Under The Wave of Kanagawa"?

    1. Hey Sakina!,
Thank you for commenting on my blog! Some of the colours I used for this artwork were similar colours to the original art. I don't know any facts about the painting but I've researched and found out that this painting "Under the wave of Kanagawa" is apart of a series titled "Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji" which Katsushika Hokusai made between 1830 and 1833.
Would you change anything in my painting?
